dero’s paintings represent a contemplation of his and modern society’s balancing act between consciousness and biological instinct as the human endurance is stretched through the transition from a natural wildness to an industrial mind.

“a bit too attached” to natural surroundings, the sun and seasons, his style can vary widely from summer to winter. while his palette and subject juggle a playfully optimistic vision, the narrative is often times spoken with an absurdist mind and occasionally nihilistic voice- ultimately finding peace in paintings riddled with ironic idealism of philosophic leisure, nostalgia and whimsical escape.
